I think the first time I had the best guacamole was when I was living in St Helena in Napa Valley. We would eat at this place on Main street, and it indeed was the best guac ever! What’s more, they also had such a good tostada salad.

HOW DO YOU MAKE GUACAMOLE?

Slice three ripe avocados in half, remove the pit and skins, and then scoop them into a bowl. After this, use a fork to mash them so you can get a chunky texture gently. Next, add the red onions, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeno pepper, garlic, lime juice, and of course salt and stir everything together.

So that’s it—the most delicious, easy homemade guacamole ever.

TIPS FOR PERFECT HOMEMADE GUACAMOLE

  • Guacamole goes brown pretty quickly, so enough lime juice helps to slow down the process
  • Place some saran wrap into the bowl touching the homemade guacamole, since air is not its friend.
  • Leaving the pith in is an old wife’s tale, therefore it doesn’t matter if you leave it in there.
  • I do not like to add lemon because it changes the flavor of the guac.

How to keep it green for longer

  1. Firstly, place in an airtight storage container
  2. Secondly, pour about 1/2 inch cold water on top
  3. After that, secure lid on storage container and place in the fridge
  4. This works great as, in short, the water prevents the air from getting to the guacamole. ENJOY!
