Cinco de Mayo is right here again! and we need a good stiff drink to get the day going. I love anything spicy and I love Margaritas. They are spicy, tart, slightly sweet, and of course, they are so fresh over a ton of ice. Grab the shaker and your ice and gets get drinking.

Spicy Cilantro Margarita Recipe Ingredients

To make this spicy margarita recipe, you need 6 simple ingredients:

  • Tequila – Use any good-quality Blanco tequila in this recipe. I like this brand, but feel free to use your favorite!
  • A Fresno chili pepper – Use anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 of the pepper. If you want it super spicy, add more seeds.
  • Orange liqueur – You’ll see recipes that call for Grand mariner and triple sec, but I love Cointreau here.
  • Freshly squeezed lime juice – For the best results, squeeze your limes right before you make your cocktails.
  • Something sweet – I sweeten mine with homemade simple syrup. Bring equal parts water and sugar to a boil for 2 minutes and let cool.
  • Lime soda – I like the bite the soda adds.
  • And ice! Because a great margarita is always on the rocks.

To make a lighter drink, fill your glass halfway with the margarita mixture. Then, top it off with sparkling lime soda water.
