Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ½ cups chocolate chips, at least 70% cocoa

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together.
  3. Cream butter with the sugars together using an electric hand whisk or a mixer. Add one egg at a time and finally the vanilla and mix until incorporated. Add half the flour mixture and mix for 20 seconds, add the remaining flour and mix for another 20 seconds.
  4. Reduce mixer to a slow speed and add the chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop out cookie dough using a small ice cream scooper or one roughly 1 large tablespoon of dough and place on the tray, do not flatten out. it will flatten out during the baking process.
  6. Bake cookies in the center of the oven for 10 minutes.
