Ingredients
4 beef hot dogs
4 hot dog buns
2 cups red cabbage, shredded
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 cup french’s fried onions
BBQ sauce:
4 slices thick-cut bacon, diced
1/2 onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
2 sprigs thyme
1 cup tomato ketchup
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon yellow mustard powder
Instructions
- Grill hot dogs and set them aside to keep warm.
- Meanwhile, mix red cabbage, mayo, apple cider vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, mix well and set aside.
- Cook bacon until crispy, remove and set aside. Keep the bacon fat in the pan.
- In the same pan, add onion and thyme and cook for 3 minutes. Add ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, cumin, and yellow mustard. Simmer on a low heat for 3-4 minutes.
- Toast hot dog buns, top with BBQ sauce, hot dog, cabbage slaw, bacon, and fried onions. Enjoy!
